Tommy Hill

Tommy Hill was practically born on a sailboat. Started sailing sunfish at the age of 5 and from there he worked his way up through sailing lasers, snipes, J24s, Farr 40s and eventually Corel 45. In 1986 won the SORC as the bowman on Abracadabra, on that same year he won a bronze medal in the snipe class in the central american games. In 1993 he returned to the central american games and won the silver medal in the J24 class. In the 90’s he had a very successful campaign as a tactician for Chris Larson in the J24 class. He also had many successful seasons as helmsman on multiple Titans, Farr 40s and Corel 45s. In addition to all of his marine experience, Tommy has over 30 years in the construction and aviation industries.

Stefanie Hill

Growing up in Puerto Rico and being on the water due to her family’s passion for boating, it’s only natural that Stefanie acquired the same passion at a very young age.  After graduating from the University of Tampa with a degree in Entrepreneurship, she came back to join the family business. After 2 years in the aviation industry, she applied her experience and assisted in the development of DownWind Yacht Sales, and is very excited about being part of the team.

Captain José Santiago

Captain Jose Santiago was born and raised in Puerto Rico and starting sailing at the age of 14. While studying for his bachelor’s degree, he worked for a local dealer selling windsurf equipment and worked as a windsurf instructor.As his passion for racing quickly escalated he began racing J-24s during which he met Tom Hill’s family. In 1993 the team achieved the Silver Medal in the Caribbean and Central American Games, in addition to other International Regattas. Eventually he moved from small boats to the maxi class racing on “Titan 12” a Reichel Pugh 75. Also cruised on “Titan XIV” a Valdettaro 115. He has sailed in the Med, Atlantic, and Caribbean Seas across the Panama Canal to the Pacific. He is bilingual English and Spanish.  In 2003 Captain Jose Santiago earned his USCG 100 tons Master Captain License with Auxiliary Sailing and Commercial Assistance Towing.

He also is a PADI Rescue Diver and enjoys fishing.
